FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
San Jose, CA, Feb. 9, 2002 - CAItech,
a Silicon Valley manufacturer
of automatic inspection machines, has completed its second round of financing.
Investors from Europe and the U.S. contributed to the private offering.
President Shawn Buckley said,"This financing will carry us through the next 24 months
of operation. We now have the assets to assure that we can introduce new
products on an aggressive schedule."
The
CAItech seed round of financing was completed in late 1997 through venture capital and
private Silicon Valley sources. Two years later,
CAItech completed its first round
of financing primarily with European funding.
Swedish investor Rene Francis, an investor on both the first and second rounds,
said, "We are pleased with
CAItech's
progress, especially in European sales. But
without the continued support of our Chinese partners, development would have
been slowed by weak revenues in the telecommunications sector."
